Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Duane Lee Chapman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jean Pierre Skogsbaer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chapman comes into the arena with Gonna Fly Now by Bill Conti blaring out of the sound system. Skogsbaer comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Rough boy - ZZ Top kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Duane Lee Chapman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jean Pierre Skogsbaer!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skogsbaer swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Skogsbaer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Chapman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Skogsbaer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chapman.
Chapman swinging wilding here.
Chapman changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Jean Pierre Skogsbaer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skogsbaer lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Chapman backs up against the cage.
Chapman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Chapman misses with a double jab

and Skogsbaer counters with a shoot takedown. Chapman fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Skogsbaer works over Chapman with some ground and pound from guard.
Chapman keeping moving, preventing Skogsbaer from controlling successfully.
Chapman wants to sweep here but Skogsbaer controlling him for the moment.
Skogsbaer wants to control from the top but Chapman keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Skogsbaer drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Chapman dives on top into guard.

Skogsbaer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chapman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Skogsbaer is looking to reverse the position.

Chapman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Skogsbaer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Skogsbaer is trying to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Skogsbaer sneaks back into half guard.
Skogsbaer is doing well to control the position and prevent Chapman from advancing to side control.

Chapman looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Skogsbaer is trying to stand back up but Chapman is controlling him

Skogsbaer is doing well to control the position and prevent Chapman from advancing to side control.

Skogsbaer is looking to control Chapman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Skogsbaer avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skogsbaer might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chapman kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Chapman tries to pass to full mount but Skogsbaer defends it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Chapman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Skogsbaer manages to avoid it.
Skogsbaer swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Chapman counters with a left and a right that stings Skogsbaer.
Chapman just misses with a punch to the body.

Chapman lands a left and a right that send Skogsbaer crashing to the mat, dazed. Chapman thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Skogsbaer is rocked!


It looks like Jean Pierre Skogsbaer has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Chapman lands with a nice body punch.
Skogsbaer is still on wobbly legs! Can Chapman finish him?
Skogsbaer looks gassed!
Skogsbaer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Skogsbaer dodges the punch combination from Chapman.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Chapman throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Skogsbaer colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Chapman as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Skogsbaer is left battered and dazed whilst Chapman and his camp cheer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Duane Lee Chapman!
