Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vince Vento!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Sanchez!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vento closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sanchez to the mat! Sanchez manages to get full guard.

Vento tries to free his leg and advance position but Sanchez is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Sanchez wants to clinch but Vento slips to the side

and Vento counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Vento passes the guard and advances to mount!
Vento with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.
Sanchez is working to get back to half guard.
Sanchez is squirming around, avoiding Vento's attempts to control the action.
Sanchez squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Vento jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Sanchez manages to avoid the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

so Vento counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sanchez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sanchez doesn't manage to clinch there - Vento circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Sanchez is looking to clinch but Vento is avoiding it.

Sanchez pushes Vento up against the cage in a clinch.
Sanchez with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Sanchez working hard to break the clinch.
Sanchez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Vento is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sanchez pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Sanchez tries to pull guard but Vento holds him up against the cage and eventually Sanchez drops back down to his feet.
Vento tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sanchez smiles and moves away.
Vento keeps the fight on the outside.
Vento leaves Sanchez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Vento.
Sanchez prevents Vento from improving position.
Vento working away.
Vento tries to advance to mount but Sanchez denies him.
Sanchez is pushing Vento's head away, looking to escape. Vento manages to hold on to the position though.
Sanchez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sanchez tries to kick Vento off but Vento keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Sanchez won't allow Vento to pass to mount.
Sanchez gets back to full guard.
Vento stopping the sweep attempt from Sanchez.
Sanchez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Vento is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Sanchez!

Sanchez jumps guard and drags Vento to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Sanchez wants to sweep but no luck.
Vento stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sanchez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sanchez controls Vento momentarily but Vento frees himself.
Sanchez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vento's guard.

Sanchez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Vento, up you get!
Sanchez throws a head kick that misses.
Sanchez tries to clinch there but Vento circles away.
Sanchez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vento swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Sanchez clinches.
Vento tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sanchez smiles and moves away.
Sanchez tries to clinch up but Vento circles away and keeps his distance.
Sanchez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Some wild striking there from Sanchez.

Sanchez pushes Vento up against the cage in a clinch.

Sanchez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sanchez doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Vento counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Vento works his way into side control.
Vento trying to control the action but Sanchez is working from the bottom.
Vince Vento overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Sanchez tries to bench press Vento off him but Vento keeps the position.
Vento advances to mount.
Vento wants to take his opponent's back but Sanchez doesn't allow it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sanchez is trying desperately to improve position.

Vento is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Sanchez has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Sanchez!
