Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Schilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Early (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Early has chosen "Taste of Ink" by The Used as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Schilt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Early!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Early showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Schilt.
Schilt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Early forces Schilt back against the cage and clinches.

Early pulls Schilt into guard.
Early is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Schilt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Schilt controls from within his opponent's guard.
Early keeping moving, preventing Schilt from controlling successfully.

Early is looking for a triangle but Schilt pushes his legs off easily.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Schilt accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Early shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Early showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schilt wants to control but Early is keeping busy.
Early is looking to take a break and control but Schilt is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Early is thwarting Schilt's attempts to control the position.
Schilt is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Schilt drives through with a takedown into guard.

Early has his foot on Schilt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Schilt works his way back into a safe position though.

Schilt postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Early is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Schilt, into his guard.
Schilt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Early controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Early looking to pass the guard.
Early postures up.
Schilt keeping moving, preventing Early from controlling successfully.
Early tries to free his leg and advance position but Schilt is retaining full guard.

Schilt had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Early is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Schilt Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Early's back instead.
Will Schilt go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Schilt thows a strike but Early uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Early as he ends up in Schilt 's guard!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Schilt, as that shot connected.
Schilt looks to throw the jab but Early is out of range.

Early shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schilt's guard.
Schilt not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Schilt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Early looking to pass the guard.
Schilt tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Schilt working for a triangle but Early defends it easily.
Early stays in close to Schilt's body and controls the position.
I looks like Early might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Schilt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Schilt looks to land a left hand but Early moved out of range nicely.
Schilt lands with a right hand.
Schilt throws a head kick that half lands.

and Early counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Schilt wants to control but Early is keeping busy.

Schilt preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Schilt is looking to control Early's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Schilt avoid being mounted?

Early is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Schilt is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Early is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Schilt is fighting off a takedown attempt but Early is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Schilt to the mat. Schilt regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


The fighters circle momentarily. Schilt darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Schilt lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Early uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Schilt.

Early takes the fight into the clinch.

Schilt escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Schilt misses with a head kick.

Early shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Schilt napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Schilt is looking to regain half guard here but Early keeps moving and retains side control.
You can see the frustration on Schilt's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Early takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Schilt is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
DJ Early has got the better of the ground game so far.
Early doesn't have the hooks in and Schilt manages to turn into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Schilt is pulling down on Early's head to control his posture.
Schilt controls Early momentarily but Early frees himself.

Early rolls with it to try and escape but Schilt cranks on the arm and Early is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
