Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Hawkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sir Deric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hawkins's entrance music is "Tubthumping" by Chumbawumba. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hawkins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Deric was well out of range. Poor timing from Hawkins.

Deric takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Deric fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hawkins misses with a wild combination.
Deric steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Hawkins.
Hawkins pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Hawkins scores with a crisp jab that stopped Deric in his tracks.
Hawkins feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Deric sprawling to the canvas! Deric rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Hawkins finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hawkins takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Deric is rocked!
BOOM! Hawkins lands a beautiful left hook that drops Deric. Deric tries to recover but Hawkins is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Deric lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Hawkins!
