Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jonathan Sparks has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jonathan Sparks seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage lands with a thumping leg kick.
Savage doesn't manage to clinch there - Sparks circles away.
Sparks shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Savage sprawls well. Savage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sparks gets slowly back to his feet.
Sparks lands with a right hand.
Savage closes the distance and clinches.
Sparks misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Savage turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Savage manages to end up in side control.
Savage is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sparks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Savage is trying to get an arm triangle but Sparks is defending well.
Savage decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sparks to his feet.
Savage wants to clinch up but Sparks keeps it at a distance.
Savage instigates a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Savage creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Savage blocks a body shot from Sparks.
Sparks lands with a short shot to the head.
Savage tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Sparks's elbow.
Savage just leaning against Sparks, taking a breather.
Sparks tries to pull guard but Savage holds him up against the cage and eventually Sparks drops back down to his feet.

Savage prevents Sparks from breaking the clinch.
Sparks fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Sparks tries a body shot but Savage blocks it.

Savage keeps control of Sparks as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Sparks wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sparks blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Savage digs a right hand underneath Sparks's ribcage. Sparks let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Sparks pushes Savage back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Sparks tries to land knees in the clinch but Savage avoids the damage to the body.

Savage breaks the clinch.
Savage fails with an attempt to clinch.
Savage fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sparks, pushing him back against the cage.
Savage lands a takedown into guard.
Sparks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Savage wants to get back to his feet.
Sparks is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Sparks is pressing down on Savage's thigh, looking to free his foot. Savage is holding on for now.

Savage kicks off Sparks and gets to his feet.
Savage moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sparks tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Savage just stands there and leans against the cage.
Savage is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Savage takes a shot to the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Savage lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sparks backwards.
Savage blocks an uppercut.
Savage lands a takedown into guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sparks is on top in guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Savage manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Sparks displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Sparks fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Savage checks it well.
Sparks tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Savage is able to avoid easily.

Savage uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sparks.

Sparks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Savage as he avoids it easily.
Sparks is breathing heavily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sparks, as that shot connected.
Savage is rocked!
Sparks lands with a right and another and another! Savage is in big trouble! Sparks lands again and this time it's lights out for Savage! A quality knockout there for Sparks.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Jonathan Sparks!
