Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bancroft Rothschild (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Kerns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rothschild comes to the cage accompanied by The Light. Kerns has chosen Johnny Cash - Hurt as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Kerns! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kerns throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Kerns connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Kerns uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rothschild. Kerns throws a low kick but Rothschild avoids it. Kerns tries to clinch up. Kerns tries to work over Rothschild's front leg with a kick but Rothschild checks it. Rothschild swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kerns wants to land a leg kick but Rothschild is out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rothschild jabs at Kerns's body. Kerns bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Rothschild fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kerns manages to avoid it. Kerns lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothschild stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rothschild wants it to stay on the feet. Rothschild scores with a jab. Kerns acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Rothschild darts in trying to clinch and Kerns counters with a nice uppercut. Kerns throws a head kick that misses. A chopping leg kick lands by Rothschild. Kerns feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Rothschild's calf. Kerns uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Rothschild.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A left and a right from Rothschild both land. Nice combination. Kerns looks for a takedown but Rothschild sprawls well. Kerns misses with a body punch
and Rothschild counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rothschild lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Kerns buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kerns throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Rothschild counters with a straight right hand. Kerns throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Rothschild's head. Rothschild looks to land a right hand but Kerns moved out of range. Nice defenses there by Kerns. Bancroft Rothschild is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rothschild throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kerns's head. Rothschild staying out of range there. Kerns looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bancroft Rothschild has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Kerns. Kerns misses with a low kick. Kerns throws a leg kick that misses. Kerns throws a front kick aimed at Rothschild's knee but Rothschild avoids it well. Rothschild swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kerns counters with a head kick. Kerns uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rothschild has time to react.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kerns lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rothschild's sensitive parts. Kerns is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kerns thumps Rothschild with a low kick. Rothschild is breathing heavily. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kerns is looking to clinch but Rothschild is avoiding it.

Rothschild bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kerns's head. Rothschild ducks under a wild hook from Kerns. Rothschild lands with a nice combination. Kerns backs away looking to recover. Kerns blocks a jab. Kerns wants to clinch up but Rothschild keeps it at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rothschild tries to land a body kick and Kerns counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A low kick from Kerns misses and Rothschild counters with a lovely straight right hand! Rothschild clinches but Kerns breaks the clinch and Kerns counters with a big head kick but Rothschild shrugs it off. Rothschild looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Rothschild circles away from the clinch attempt and Rothschild counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kerns digs a good body shot into Rothschild's ribs.

and Rothschild counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kerns is lucky that one didn't land flush.
It looks like Jack Kerns has been cut. Nice sprawl there from Rothschild as Kerns shoots in. A jab from Rothschild misses. Rothschild throws an overhand right that lands on Kerns's shoulder, as Kerns tries to avoid the shot. Rothschild lands with an overhand left. Kerns throws a quick inside leg kick. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rothschild gets off balance looking for a body kick and Kerns counters with a nice low kick that buckles Rothschild's knee momentarily. Kerns fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kerns swings for the body but Rothschild moves out of range.
Jack Kerns seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerns finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Kerns lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Rothschild has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Rothschild and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Rothschild checks a leg kick. Bancroft Rothschild seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Rothschild lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Rothschild is looking to slow Kerns down with leg kicks. Rothschild is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Kerns throws a predictable looking body shot
enabling Rothschild to counter with a crisp jab. Kerns gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kerns misses with some punches.
Rothschild pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Kerns is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rothschild gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Kerns cracks Rothschild with a nice body shot. Kerns blocks an elbow strike from Rothschild.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Rothschild working aggressively here.

Jack Kerns showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Jack Kerns's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Rothschild thows a leg kick but Kerns checks it and Kerns counters with a takedown into side control. Kerns has hold of Rothschild's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Rothschild seems comfortable defending it but Kerns has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Rothschild is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Rothschild is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Kerns couldn't care less - he's delighted!
