The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Vera as he jumps to the side.
Bennis shoots in for a takedown but Vera shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Bennis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marco Vera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jaggar Bennis.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bennis shoots in for a double leg but Vera sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bennis is defended easily by Vera.

Vera bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vera creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Vera looks up at the clock and then as Bennis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Vera smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Vera works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vera lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Bennis is still in real trouble! Can Vera finish him?

Vera scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Bennis is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Vera can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
