Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ko Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jae Sun Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ko Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jae Sun Kim!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kim misses with a jab, cross combination.
Maeda stuffs the takedown attempt from Kim. Kim gets slowly back to his feet.
Kim shoots in looking for a takedown. Maeda tries to sprawl out of it but Kim keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Maeda manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Ko Maeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jae Sun Kim.
Maeda throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Maeda throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maeda - that will leave a mark!
A slapping body kick lands there for Maeda.
Kim fails with the takedown.
Kim throws a right and a left that Maeda avoids nicely.
Kim tries to clinch but Maeda is having none of it.
Good leg kick by Maeda there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Kim takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Kim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maeda manages to avoid it.

Kim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Maeda's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Kim takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Kim thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Maeda is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Kim avoids the attempt from Maeda to control.
The referee warns Maeda that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Maeda is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kim controlling his opponent.
Maeda takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kim landing strikes from the mount and Maeda is in trouble!

Maeda is breathing heavily.
I looks like Kim might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maeda wants to hold on but Kim pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Kim controlling from mount.
Kim pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jae Sun Kim dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Kim throws a leg kick
and Maeda counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Maeda leaves Kim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Maeda gets caught flat footed, as Kim shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kim controls from within his opponent's guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jae Sun Kim just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Kim closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kim controls the position.
Kim moves into full mount!

Kim shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Maeda pinned against the cage. Maeda gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Kim darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Kim's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Maeda is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kim scores with a couple of nice shots.
Kim sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Maeda defending well though.
Kim lands strikes from half guard.
Kim seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jae Sun Kim showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Kim tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Maeda swivels and escapes.
Kim shoots in for a takedown but Maeda shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kim tries to clinch but Maeda is having none of it.
Maeda fails with an attempt to clinch.
Maeda leaves Kim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ko Maeda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jae Sun Kim.
Kim tries for a takedown but Maeda sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kim fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Maeda cracks Kim with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Kim clinches but Maeda breaks the clinch
and Maeda counters with a one-two to the body.

Kim instigates a clinch.
Maeda blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Kim drops down looking for an ankle pick but Maeda pulls his leg out and moves away.

Kim shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Maeda manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kim must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Maeda can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kim controls the pace.
Let's hope that Kim has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kim passes Maeda's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Maeda is trying to stand up here but Kim is controlling him well.
Kim is controlling the pace.
Maeda is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kim scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kim pushes Maeda up against the cage in a clinch.

Kim breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Maeda gets caught flat footed, as Kim shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kim not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ko Maeda has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
Jae Sun Kim comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Kim winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
