0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, tyler edwards! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! edwards tries to close the distance and clinch but Gilmore swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Gilmore looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gilmore is controlling the pace.
edwards tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Gilmore manages to move to mount!
Gilmore looking to finish edwards with some ground and pound. This is bad for edwards! Gilmore controlling from the full mount. edwards is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. edwards throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Gilmore is desperately trying to improve his position but edwards has a good base and remains in mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gilmore tries to lock up and control but edwards gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. edwards wants to control the pace but Gilmore is squirming around nicely. Gilmore tries to hold on but edwards postures up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gilmore wants to clinch and edwards counters with a head kick. Gilmore feints and as edwards raises his hands in defense, Gilmore changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Gilmore stands up from edwards's guard - Gilmore perhaps looking for a knockout. edwards shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Gilmore counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for edwards! edwards tries to lock up and control but Gilmore gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gilmore is in the full mount, landing strikes. Gilmore dominating with strikes here. Gilmore sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. BOOM! Gilmore connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Wayne Gilmore overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Gilmore controlling the pace for now. edwards tries to hold on but Gilmore postures up. Gilmore drops back looking for a leg! edwards is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and edwards manages to kick Gilmore off! Gilmore jumps back into edwards's guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Gilmore looking to pass the guard.

edwards lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Gilmore!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. edwards wants to control the pace but Gilmore is squirming around nicely. Gilmore bucks edwards off and manages to get back to his feet! edwards closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Gilmore might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Gilmore tries to improve position but can't. Gilmore manages to work his way to half guard, despite edwards's best efforts. Gilmore slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gilmore doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Gilmore pushes edwards off and scrambles back to his feet.

edwards tries to clinch but fails miserably and Gilmore counters with a nice double leg into side control. edwards won't be happy with that. edwards is looking to regain half guard here but Gilmore keeps moving and retains side control. edwards is trying to control Gilmore's posture but Gilmore avoids it. Gilmore working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. edwards struggling a bit here. Gilmore controls the position. Gilmore has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. edwards is looking to reverse the position. edwards manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! tyler edwards has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wayne Gilmore is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gilmore makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gilmore.
And that's the end of the fight! Wayne Gilmore showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gilmore, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
