PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between JD Chilltown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chilltown comes to the cage accompanied by Away By Mercy Drive. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, JD Chilltown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Patrick Kain!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kain throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jab from Chilltown.
Chilltown throws a series of punches but Kain avoids them all with ease.
Kain throws a big shot that misses.
Chilltown swats away the attempt to clinch by Kain.
Kain should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chilltown swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chilltown keeps the fight on the outside.
Kain misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Chilltown.
Kain tries to clinch but Chilltown is having none of it.
Chilltown keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Chilltown swats away the attempt to clinch by Kain.
A swing and a miss from Kain.
Kain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chilltown tries to avoid it but Kain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chilltown to the ground. Chilltown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kain is looking to clinch but Chilltown is avoiding it.

Chilltown drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chilltown won't allow Kain to sweep him here.
Kain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chilltown manages to get himself to full guard.
Kain tries to stand but Chilltown is controlling from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kain looks gassed!
Chilltown has control of Kain's left arm, preventing Kain from doing any damage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kain would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Chilltown looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Chilltown is adopting a defensive guard.
Chilltown on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chilltown tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JD Chilltown dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Chilltown scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Chilltown fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kain, pushing him back against the cage.

Chilltown's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Chilltown.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kain takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Kain is not content to let Chilltown control the position.
Chilltown is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Kain will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Kain is breathing heavily.

The referee stands the fighters back up. JD Chilltown just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Chilltown takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Chilltown swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Chilltown rushes Kain and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Chilltown has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kain clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Chilltown lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Chilltown has the hooks in. Kain is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Chilltown lands strikes to the head.
Kain covers up after that shot from Chilltown.
Chilltown has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kain's body.

Chilltown connects with a big shot to the side of Kain's head.
Chilltown is punishing Kain with strikes - can he finish him?!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kain rolls, trying to escape but Chilltown keeps control of the position.

Chilltown tries to keep control of the position but Kain is staying busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Chilltown punishes Kain with strikes from the back mount.
Chilltown trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Kain doesn't escape.
Chilltown is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Kain. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Chilltown is punishing Kain with strikes - can he finish him?!

Chilltown has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kain has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Kain covers up after that shot from Chilltown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

JD Chilltown dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Chilltown throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kain's waist but Kain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Chilltown off to one side.
Kain lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like JD Chilltown has been cut.
Chilltown misses the shot to the body.
Kain just misses with a punch to the body.
Chilltown gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Kain counters with a two punch combo.

Kain moves into range and clinches up with Chilltown.
Kain is looking to control Chilltown's arms but Chilltown gets an underhook and turns him. Now Kain has his back to the cage.
Kain is working for takedown but Chilltown is calmly controlling the position for now.

Chilltown manages to break the clinch.
Chilltown punishes Kain's body with a nice straight punch.
Patrick Kain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kain changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chilltown tries to avoid it but Kain manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chilltown to the ground. Chilltown escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kain tries to clinch up but Chilltown circles away and keeps his distance.
JD Chilltown is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kain fails with a takedown attempt.
JD Chilltown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Kain.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kain looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chilltown lands a two punch combo.

Horrible takedown by Chilltown or perhaps it was just good defense by Kain which made him look bad.
Kain shoots in and drives through. Chilltown sprawls well.

Chilltown is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kain can do to turn this around?

Chilltown seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Chilltown is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Kain is trying to stand up here but Chilltown is controlling him well.

Kain has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chilltown is working away from the top position though.

Chilltown thows a huge punch but Kain dodges it nicely.
Patrick Kain has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

JD Chilltown is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Well Chilltown has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
