Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bronzio Pakuassado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danilo Shadow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pakuassado comes to the cage accompanied by Rocky Balboa. Danilo Shadow has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Alexandre Firmino and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pakuassado stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pakuassado wants it to stay on the feet.
Shadow moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Shadow fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pakuassado avoids it really well and circles away.

and Shadow counters by clinching up.

Pakuassado looks to score with a jab to the body but Shadow is just out of range.
Pakuassado changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Shadow looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pakuassado has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Shadow is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Bronzio Pakuassado has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Danilo Shadow.

Pakuassado is looking to take a break and control but Shadow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pakuassado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Shadow doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Pakuassado.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shadow tries to roll over but Pakuassado keeps him under control.
Shadow is trying to maintain the position but Pakuassado is very close to passing his half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pakuassado with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Shadow tries to control the position but Pakuassado now has his back.

Pakuassado slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shadow breaks Pakuassado's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Pakuassado has his foot on Shadow's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shadow works his way back into a safe position though.
Pakuassado tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Shadow throws a strike but Pakuassado rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Pakuassado is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Shadow tries for a takedown but Pakuassado circles away easily
and Pakuassado counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Pakuassado.
Shadow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pakuassado gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Pakuassado gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Pakuassado avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pakuassado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Shadow is fending him off so far but Pakuassado persists. Nope, Shadow circles away and we're back to standing.
Shadow turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Shadow tries a head kick but it misses.
Shadow looks to score with a jab to the body but Pakuassado is just out of range.
Pakuassado wants to clinch but Shadow slips to the side
and Shadow counters with a good, hard body kick but Pakuassado shrugs it off.

so Shadow counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shadow stands and steps away. Pakuassado gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Shadow is breathing heavily.
Shadow moves in looking to clinch but Pakuassado pushes him off.

Shadow can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Pakuassado controls the pace.

Shadow is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Shadow wants to get back to full guard but Pakuassado has passed into side control.

Shadow has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Pakuassado is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Shadow with him. Shadow is trying to defend but Pakuassado has an arm under the chin now! Shadow grimaces and is forced to tap out!
