Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chou Rico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kay Roosendaal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chou Rico!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kay Roosendaal!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rico catches Roosendaal with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Rico avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Roosendaal misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Rico tries to clinch up but Roosendaal circles away and keeps his distance.
A punch combination from Rico misses.
Roosendaal keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Rico counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Rico shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roosendaal pinned against the cage. Roosendaal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rico really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Roosendaal dives in and grabs Rico's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rico pushes down on Roosendaal's head and hops out.
Chou Rico has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kay Roosendaal.
Rico tries to clinch but Roosendaal moves out of range.

Rico changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Roosendaal looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Rico counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Roosendaal!
Rico fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roosendaal throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Rico holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Roosendaal tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rico smiles and moves away.
Rico shoots in but no luck this time.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kay Roosendaal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rico throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Roosendaal's waist but Roosendaal gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rico off to one side.

Roosendaal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rico shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roosendaal napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Roosendaal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Roosendaal is trying to hold Rico in close to prevent damage but Rico has managed to pass into half guard.
Roosendaal pushes Rico off looking to stand but Rico dives back in and keeps control.

Kay Roosendaal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rico has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
