Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John St Clair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Malakai Dei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). St Clair comes into the arena with Flypside-Someday blaring out of the sound system. Dei is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kryptonite. Malakai Dei looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Malakai Dei!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dei closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dei is looking to take a break and control but St Clair is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dei sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but St Clair is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
The ground and pound from Dei seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
St Clair wants to control but Dei postures up.
St Clair tries to buck Dei off but Dei is having none of it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dei looks like he's trying to stand up.
St Clair perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Dei wants to stand back up but St Clair manages to pass into side control.
St Clair working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Dei takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Dei is looking to regain half guard here but St Clair keeps moving and retains side control.
St Clair tries to move to mount but Dei blocks the move with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

St Clair can't get the takedown.
Dei has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. St Clair avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by St Clair.
You can see the frustration on Dei's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dei is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, St Clair asserts his dominance and retains side control.
John St Clair overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for St Clair, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
