Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Burnett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Todd Coles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Dan Burnett has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dan Burnett seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Burnett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Todd Coles! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coles wants to clinch up but Burnett keeps it at a distance. Coles tries to clinch up. Coles fails with an attempt to clinch.
Burnett shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Coles stuffs the takedown attempt from Burnett. Burnett gets slowly back to his feet. Coles is looking to clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Burnett has a takedown stuffed. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Burnett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Coles is looking to clinch but Burnett is avoiding it.
That's one minute gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Burnett. Coles slaps away a takedown attempt from Burnett, before circling back to the center of the mat. A leg kick checked by Coles. Burnett keeps the fight on the outside. Coles fails in his attempt to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Coles tries to close the distance and clinch up but Burnett swats him away and circles back towards the center. Nice sprawl there from Coles as Burnett shoots in. Coles tries to clinch but Burnett moves out of range. Coles closes the distance and clinches. Burnett dodges an elbow strike from Coles.
Coles throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Burnett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Coles walks away with a smile on his face. Burnett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Coles takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Burnett tries to score a power double leg takedown but Coles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Burnett somewhat. Coles doesn't manage to clinch there - Burnett circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burnett shoots for a takedown but Coles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Coles moves into the clinch successfully.
Coles lands an elbow inside that Burnett shrugs off. Coles lands an elbow just above Burnett 's eye.
It looks like Dan Burnett has been cut. Coles creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Burnett's defenses. Burnett fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Burnett blocks an elbow strike. Burnett avoids the elbow strike from Coles, against the cage.
Coles lands an elbow that stopped Burnett in his tracks for a moment. Coles avoiding damage as Burnett throws knees to the body.
Coles pushes off an throws an elbow but Burnett leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Coles prevents a takedown attempt there.
Burnett looking to throw knees to the head but Coles is blocking nicely.
Burnett blocks the elbow strike.
Burnett tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Coles avoids it. Coles gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. Burnett unloads a knee to the mid-section. Coles lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Burnett successfully pulls guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burnett is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Burnett is trying to control the position but Coles postures up. Burnett has a closed guard, preventing Coles from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coles wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Burnett's closed guard. He's half up but Burnett has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Burnett pivots and extends the arm, Coles falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Burnett! Well done that man!
