Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clay Phow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Pedreiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Clay Phow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pedro Pedreiro! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Phow takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
It looks like Clay Phow has been cut. Pedreiro lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. A head kick by Phow misses and Pedreiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Phow's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Phow pulls Pedreiro in close to prevent any damage. Pedreiro postures up.
Phow seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Phow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pedreiro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Pedreiro wants to control from the top but Phow keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phow working for submissions but it's allowed Pedreiro to get to half guard.
Phow wants to control the action here but instead Pedreiro manages to pass to full mount! Phow wants to control but Pedreiro is having none of it. Pedreiro lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Phow is breathing heavily. Phow holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Pedreiro tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Pedreiro is working for a guillotine from mount but Phow frees his head quite easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Phow tries to hold on but Pedreiro pushes him away.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Clay Phow just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. No luck for Pedreiro with that takedown attempt. Pedreiro is looking to clinch but Phow is avoiding it.
Pedreiro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Phow stuck in half guard on the bottom here. You can see the frustration on Phow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. A control attempt from Phow but he's now mounted! Pedreiro is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet! Pedreiro drives through and clinches with Phow against the cage.
Phow working hard to break the clinch. Phow turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Phow manages to end up in side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Pedreiro is not content to let Phow control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pedreiro manages to get back to half guard. Pedreiro is not content to let Phow control the position. Pedreiro has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Phow is working away from the top position though. Phow is trying to control the action in half guard but Pedreiro is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Pedreiro is trying to stand up here but Phow is controlling him well. Pedreiro trying to control here.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Phow lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pedreiro backs up against the cage.
Pedreiro fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Pedreiro looks to land a combination. Phow sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Pedreiro throws a nice looking combination but Phow bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Phow throws a right and a left that Pedreiro avoids nicely. Phow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pedreiro moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Phow is looking to take this fight into the clinch. No joy there for Phow, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pedreiro is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A right-left combo lands from Pedreiro. Nice sprawl there from Phow as Pedreiro shoots in. Clay Phow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Pedreiro. Phow fails with a takedown attempt. Phow throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pedreiro counters with a body kick. Phow throws a lazy head kick and Pedreiro counters with a head kick. That will keep Phow thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks! Pedreiro looks for a takedown but Phow sprawls well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A low kick from Phow misses and Pedreiro counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Pedreiro closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pedreiro lands in his opponent's guard. Phow had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pedreiro is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Phow Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pedreiro's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Pedreiro dominated that round. The cut man is working on Clay Phow's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Phow throws a lazy head kick and Pedreiro counters with a low kick, right behind Phow 's knee. Phow tries to clinch up but Pedreiro circles away and keeps his distance. Pedreiro with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Phow to score with a decent uppercut. Phow lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Clay Phow is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Phow throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Phow throws an overhand right that lands on Pedreiro's shoulder, as Pedreiro tries to avoid the shot. Clay Phow seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Phow misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pedreiro.
Phow closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Pedreiro is staying active underneath Phow, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Pedreiro won't allow Phow to pass to mount. Phow missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Pedreiro is trying to maintain the position but Phow is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pedreiro keeping control of the position. Phow is looking to take a break and control but Pedreiro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pedreiro makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Pedreiro. Phow would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Phow throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Phow controls from within his opponent's guard. Pedreiro trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Pedreiro is trying to keep Phow in close.
Phow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Pedreiro wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Phow looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Phow looking to sit in guard and control but Pedreiro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Phow controlling Pedreiro's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pedreiro sitting in guard, not really doing much. Phow seems keen to control Pedreiro's posture. Phow trying to control the position.
Phow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Phow is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pedreiro is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

and Pedreiro holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Pedreiro digs a right hand into Phow's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Phow's gas tank. Phow gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Pedreiro.
Phow is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pedreiro pulls him back up using the underhooks. Phow drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pedreiro gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pedreiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Pedreiro doesn't manage to clinch there - Phow circles away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Phow misses with a combination
and Pedreiro counters with a lovely straight right hand! Phow tries to land a body kick and Pedreiro counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Pedreiro wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Clay Phow dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Clay Phow's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
Phow works over Pedreiro's head and body with a nice combination. Phow works Pedreiro's body with a nice hook. Pedreiro shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Phow pinned against the cage. Phow gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Phow fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Phow lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Pedreiro misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Phow throws a combination that misses and Pedreiro decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Phow's guard. Phow keeping moving, preventing Pedreiro from controlling successfully. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pedreiro is fighting to break Phow's control of his arms but Phow is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Phow controls Pedreiro momentarily but Pedreiro frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Phow has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Pedreiro off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Phow stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Phow wants it to stay on the feet. Clay Phow has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Pedreiro. Phow shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pedreiro's guard. Phow seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Phow has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Phow trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedreiro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Phow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pedreiro moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Phow. Phow working away. Pedreiro is looking for a sweep.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Phow cracks Pedreiro with a big elbow. Phow stands up and beckons Pedreiro to his feet. Phow has managed to clinch.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Phow wants to control from the top but Pedreiro keeps moving. Phow is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Pedreiro keeping moving, preventing Phow from controlling successfully. Phow in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Phow shoots in for a double leg but Pedreiro sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pedreiro gets caught flat footed, as Phow shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Phow trying to control but Pedreiro is working from the bottom. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Pedreiro manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
And that's the end of the fight! Clay Phow showed his dominance in that final round. I think Phow has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
