Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haggstroem stuffs the takedown.
Haggstroem shoots in but Hayz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hayz shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Haggstroem as he jumps to the side.
Hayz instigates a clinch.
Haggstroem stops a takedown attempt from Hayz.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dustin Hayz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hayz jumps into guard, dragging Haggstroem to the mat.
Haggstroem must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hayz throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Hayz tries to clinch up but Haggstroem circles away and keeps his distance.

and Hayz counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Haggstroem's guard now.
Haggstroem really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hayz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Haggstroem wants to sweep but no luck.
Haggstroem working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hayz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hayz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Hayz drops back looking for a leg! Haggstroem is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Haggstroem manages to kick Hayz off! Hayz jumps back into Haggstroem's guard.
Hayz is breathing heavily.

Hayz postures up in Haggstroem's guard and throws a big left but Haggstroem blocks it.
Haggstroem keeping moving, preventing Hayz from controlling successfully.
Haggstroem looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hayz is one step ahead there.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Haggstroem misses with a takedown
and Hayz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hayz.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hayz can do anything to dispel that myth.

Hayz is looking to take a break and control but Haggstroem is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hayz has an Americana. Haggstroem didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hayz is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hayz hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
