Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kyle Norris!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Collin James!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Norris drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Norris is working James over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Norris scoring with some ground and pound.
Norris won't allow James to sweep him here.

Norris drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Norris off! Norris jumps back into James's guard.
Norris forces his way into half guard.
Norris is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Norris tries to pass to full mount but James defends it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James is concentrating on defense, preventing Norris from advancing position.
Norris is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for James!
Norris fails to move to back control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Norris tries to control but James wriggling away.

Norris goes for an armbar but James turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from James.
Norris is trying to control the position but James postures up.

Norris is looking for a triangle here but James uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Norris is breathing heavily.
James sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Norris is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
James wants to lay and pray for a moment but Norris keeps working.
James scores with punches from side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Norris tries to improve position but can't.
Norris defending against the ground and pound.
James is chipping away with strikes.
Norris tries to buck James off but James is having none of it.
Norris is trying to control James's posture but James avoids it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
James is looking to take a break and control but Norris is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Norris stops James from passing to mount.
James really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Norris. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Norris is trying to get back to half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

James closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Norris did well to prevent James getting side control.

James is trying for a kimura here. Norris looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! James wins by kimura!
