Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chase Charping (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Diego Ortiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charping's entrance music is 12 stones - Anthem for the Underdog. A fine choice. Chase Charping could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Diego Ortiz's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chase Charping! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Diego Ortiz! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charping shoots in but no luck this time. Charping misses with a body kick. Ortiz misses with a double jab.
Charping closes the distance and clinches up with Ortiz, looking for a takedown. Charping pushes Ortiz against the cage but Ortiz circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Ortiz shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Charping is trying to defend but Ortiz finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Charping is looking to improve his position.
Ortiz is trying to control the action in half guard but Charping is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Charping is looking for a sweep. Ortiz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ortiz tries to stand but can't do so whilst Charping controls his leg. Charping moves into full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz preventing the sweep. Ortiz slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Charping is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ortiz defends well. Ortiz wants to control from the top but Charping keeps moving. Ortiz is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Charping looking for a guillotine here but Ortiz defends easily.
Charping is breathing heavily. Ortiz controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Ortiz trying to control the position from guard on top but Charping is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Charping has his feet on Ortiz's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A clash of legs there as Charping blocks the low kick. Charping tries to close the distance and clinch but Ortiz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ortiz has managed to clinch.
Ortiz is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Ortiz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ortiz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Charping looking to sit in guard and control but Ortiz gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ortiz with a nice head shot there. Charping controls Ortiz momentarily but Ortiz frees himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charping being controlled here, momentarily. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ortiz's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Ortiz drops back looking for a leg! Charping is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Charping manages to kick Ortiz off! Ortiz jumps back into Charping's guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ortiz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Ortiz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A nice leg kick lands there from Ortiz. Charping tries to clinch but Ortiz is having none of it. Ortiz throws a series of punches but Charping moves out of range. Ortiz rushes Charping and presses him up against the cage. Ortiz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Charping doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ortiz counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Charping is not content to let Ortiz control the position. Ortiz trying to control from Charping's half guard. Charping has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charping can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ortiz controls the pace. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ortiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charping swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ortiz fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Charping wants to clinch and Ortiz counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Ortiz stops Charping from standing up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz lands a couple of elbows. Ortiz stays in close to Charping's body and controls the position. Charping not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Ortiz sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Charping defending well though. Ortiz perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Charping is not content to let Ortiz control the position. Ortiz stands up from half guard. Charping shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Ortiz counters with a nice kick to the body. Ortiz with a poor takedown and Charping counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Ortiz works his way to full guard. Good work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diego Ortiz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Charping scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Charping moves in looking to clinch but Ortiz pushes him off. Ortiz tries to clinch up. Charping cracks Ortiz with an open hand slap. Charping doesn't succeed with the takedown and Ortiz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Charping's guard. Charping throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Ortiz passes Charping's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Charping is looking to get back to full guard here but Ortiz has managed to pass to side control instead. A nice elbow there by Ortiz.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ortiz gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Ortiz tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Charping fails with the takedown and Ortiz counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ortiz. Charping tries to land a sweep but no joy. Ortiz wants to stand but Charping has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ortiz stops Charping from standing up. Charping is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Charping being controlled here, momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Charping managing to control the position. Ortiz stopping the sweep attempt from Charping. Ortiz passes into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ortiz is thwarting Charping's attempts to control the position. Ortiz performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Ortiz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

And that's the end of the fight! Diego Ortiz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ortiz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today.
