Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Donavan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shepard's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, This Is Usually The Part Where People Scream. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Donavan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepard throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donavan's waist but Donavan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shepard off to one side.
Shepard moves in looking to clinch but Donavan pushes him off.
Donavan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Donavan lands with a shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Donavan. No joy for Shepard on that attempt.
Donavan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shepard backs up against the cage.
Shepard shoots in and drives through. Donavan sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Shepard. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shepard clinches up with Donavan and pushes him back against the cage.
Shepard lands with a short shot to the head.
Shepard is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Donavan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Donavan tries to break the clinch but Shepard is controlling the position.
Donavan is trying to force a seperation but Shepard has the dominant position.
Shepard turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shepard manages to end up in side control.

Donavan is looking for a sweep.

Donavan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Shepard wants to control but Donavan is keeping him busy.
Donavan tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Donavan manages to work his way to half guard, despite Shepard's best efforts.
Shepard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Donavan knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A right-left combo lands from Donavan.
Donavan lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Shepard is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Donavan cracks Shepard with a good jab.
Shepard looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Donavan works Shepard's body with a nice hook.
Shepard is looking to clinch but Donavan is avoiding it.
Donavan connects with a right hand. Shepard shakes it off.
Shepard moves out of range of the body kick.
Donavan scores with a three punch combo!
Scott Donavan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Donavan lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Shepard backs up against the cage.

Donavan is working the combinations to good effect here.

James Shepard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Donavan lands a with a good body shot.
Shepard shoots in looking for a takedown. Donavan tries to sprawl out of it but Shepard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Donavan manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice combination there by Donavan.

Donavan connects with the punch.
Shepard takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Shepard takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Donavan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Shepard is rocked!
Donavan is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Shepard rather than just go for the knockout.
Shepard takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Donavan closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Oh Shepard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Donavan throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Shepard stumbling backwards into the cage! Shepard bounces back off the cage towards Donavan, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Donavan lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Donavan celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Scott Donavan!
