Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is face the pain. A fine choice. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Steel! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Steel is defended easily by Gracie. Steel closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Steel getting side control. Steel looks gassed! Steel prevents Gracie from standing back up.

Gracie with the active half guard here but Steel passes nicely into side control. Gracie sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Gracie looking for submissions off his back. Gracie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie wants to improve his position but Steel is controlling well.
Gracie looking for submissions off his back. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie is looking to control Steel's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted? Gracie looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steel blocking the ground and pound. Gracie goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Steel turns into him and now he's in Gracie's guard.
Steel passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Gracie punching from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie kicks off Steel and gets to his feet. Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Steel! Gracie thowing shots but they're missing. Steel tries to hold on but Gracie pushes him away. Gracie goes for an armbar but Steel turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Steel. Steel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gracie is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Steel defends well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Steel content to stall in guard here. Gracie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Steel frees his head nicely. Oh but Gracie has switched to an armbar! Steel is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
