These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bedard throws a big shot that misses.
Bedard moves out of range as VanPummel throws a body kick.
VanPummel tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bedard paws at him with a jab and circles away.
VanPummel moves out of range as Bedard strikes.
VanPummel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Some wild striking there from VanPummel.
VanPummel looks to throw the jab but Bedard is out of range.
VanPummel throws the left hand but Bedard avoids the punch easily.
Bedard takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
VanPummel throws a hook but Bedard blocks it.

Bedard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
VanPummel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bedard tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
VanPummel can't break the clinch.
Bedard scores with a knee to the head.
Bedard lands an elbow just above VanPummel 's eye.
Bedard has VanPummel pressed against the cage, preventing VanPummel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

It looks like Victor VanPummel has been cut.
VanPummel wants to get back to striking at distance but Bedard won't allow it.
Bedard connects with a nasty looking knee right to VanPummel's face.
Bedard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite VanPummel's efforts to push away.

Bedard lands a big knee to the head and VanPummel goes down! Bedard pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
