Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Turko Turero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Turero's entrance music is Cowboys from hell. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turero throws a nice looking combination but Wells bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Turero tries to clinch but Wells moves out of range.
Turero is looking to clinch.

Turero lands a left and a right that send Wells crashing to the mat, dazed. Turero thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Adam Wells has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Wells swats away the attempt to clinch by Turero.
Turero fails with an attempt to clinch.

Wells closes the distance and pushes Turero back into the cage.
Wells wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Turero tries to land a knee to the head but Wells blocks with his arms.

Turero with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Turero tightens his grip and picks Wells up, before dumping him to the ground. Wells manages to land in guard.

Turero postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Wells keeping moving, preventing Turero from controlling successfully.

Wells wants to stand up but Turero is controlling him.

Turero throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wells works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wells tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wells is pulling down on Turero's head. It's preventing any offense from Turero, at least for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Wells has closed the distance and engaged Turero in a clinch.
Wells lands a nice shot to the body.
Wells has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Turero takes a shot to the head.
Turero throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Wells blocks it with crossed arms.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Wells works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wells wants to pass the guard but Turero is keeping the position.

Wells fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Turero takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Turero is squirming around, avoiding Wells's attempts to control the action.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wells cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Adam Wells will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Wells clinches up with Turero and pushes him back against the cage.

Wells successfully pulls guard.
Turero trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wells is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Turero prevents Wells from getting back to his feet.

Wells looking for a guillotine here but Turero defends easily.
Turero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Turero distracts Wells with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Wells wants to get back to his feet but Turero is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Turero has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Turero accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Wells really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Turero. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Wells can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wells wants to stand and escape but Turero is having none of it.

Wells cracks Turero with a big right hand but Turero just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
