Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jake Ott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mark stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mark stevens will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Ott! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, mark stevens! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! stevens slips a jab and a cross from Ott.
Ott tries to clinch up. Ott is looking to take this fight into the clinch. stevens defending well as Ott loads up on a big left hand. stevens avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice takedown defense from stevens. No joy for Ott on that attempt. stevens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Ott manages to escape and get back to his feet! Ott scores with a takedown into stevens's guard. stevens utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ott throws a big right hand that misses. stevens keeping full guard, as Ott tries to pass. Ott throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. stevens keeping moving, preventing Ott from controlling successfully. Ott throws a strike but stevens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Ott wants to stand up but stevens is controlling him. stevens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Ott bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. stevens regains half guard. stevens trying to hold on to Ott's head to control him but Ott postures up.
stevens wants to improve his position but Ott is controlling well.
Ott throwing shots but stevens is blocking nicely. Ott looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Ott is breathing heavily. stevens has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ott is working away from the top position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ott not landing any meaningful shots this time. stevens really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ott. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. It looks like Ott is going to stand back up.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ott shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. stevens manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. stevens has momentary wrist control but Ott slips an elbow through the middle. Ott wants to get up but he can't break stevens's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ott missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. stevens is trying to control the position but Ott postures up. Ott with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Ott dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
stevens with a poor takedown and Ott counters with a shoot takedown. stevens fights it but they end up in guard. Ott throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ott drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and stevens dives on top into guard. stevens advances to half guard. stevens is looking for a kimura but Ott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for stevens to get the leverage. Ott is defending against the submission attempts here by stevens.
Ott manages to escape and get back to his feet! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ott throws out a leg kick but stevens moves out of range and Ott only half commits. Ott shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ott showed some decent athleticism there. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ott seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ott working stevens over with strikes. Ott looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. stevens keeps control of the position for the meantime. Ott tries to stand but his hand is stuck under stevens.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ott is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. stevens avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ott loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Ott throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ott throwing strikes but missing.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Ott throws a lazy right hand but stevens sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. stevens with a poor takedown and Ott counters with a nice double leg into side control. stevens won't be happy with that. The ground and pound from Ott seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ott throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and stevens works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure. Ott throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ott thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Jake Ott overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. stevens blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ott. Ott trying to pass the guard but stevens defending well. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ott lands a nice short elbow. stevens wants to control but Ott is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Ott fails with the takedown and stevens counters with a takedown into side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Ott dominated that second round. That's time! Ott's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
stevens shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ott's guard. Ott is looking to stand up but stevens isn't so interested in that idea. stevens drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and stevens jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. stevens thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! stevens won't allow Ott to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Ott fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Both fighters are breathing heavily. stevens avoids the body shot from Ott.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ott looks for the body kick but stevens saw that one coming. stevens shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ott's guard. stevens drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says stevens as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Ott screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with stevens! Nice submission victory there!
