Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Damarcus DeVonte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steven Saint Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). DeVonte comes to the cage accompanied by Dollars and Sense - DJ Quik. Steven Saint Pierre is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Damarcus DeVonte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Steven Saint Pierre! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! DeVonte throws a hook but Saint Pierre blocks it. DeVonte could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. DeVonte lands with a shot to the body. DeVonte swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
DeVonte gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Saint Pierre to score an easy takedown into full guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Saint Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Saint Pierre missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Saint Pierre is looking to work some ground and pound but DeVonte has wrist control. Saint Pierre looking to pass the guard. DeVonte is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. DeVonte is trying to force a seperation but Saint Pierre has the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saint Pierre prevents a takedown attempt there.
Saint Pierre jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as DeVonte walks away with a smile on his face. Saint Pierre gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Saint Pierre shoots in for a takedown but DeVonte shows good takedown defense. DeVonte throws an overhand right that lands on Saint Pierre's shoulder, as Saint Pierre tries to avoid the shot. DeVonte throws a big shot that misses. DeVonte misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Saint Pierre takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - DeVonte looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Saint Pierre circles away from the clinch attempt.
Saint Pierre avoids a lazy jab quite easily. DeVonte throws out a loose jab but Saint Pierre uses good head movement to avoid it. DeVonte tries to clinch up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. DeVonte fails with the takedown and Saint Pierre counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Saint Pierre is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. DeVonte wants to get back to his feet but Saint Pierre is in a dominant position and won't allow it. DeVonte working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Saint Pierre. Saint Pierre stands up over DeVonte, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Saint Pierre drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and DeVonte dives on top into guard. DeVonte knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saint Pierre on the ground. Saint Pierre is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. DeVonte trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. DeVonte got a little sloppy there for a moment and Saint Pierre has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, DeVonte has managed to get both his arms back between Saint Pierre's legs - danger averted. Saint Pierre has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think DeVonte should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Saint Pierre has tightened it up now! DeVonte should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Steven Saint Pierre!
