The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vlad instigates a clinch.
A knee to the head by Vlad.
It looks like Eddie Ayala has been cut.
Ayala lands a takedown into guard.
Ayala throwing strikes from guard but Vlad blocks nicely.
Vlad has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ayala off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Ayala moves in looking to clinch but Vlad pushes him off.
Ayala looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vlad is fending him off so far but Ayala persists. Nope, Vlad circles away and we're back to standing.
Vlad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ayala, pushing him back against the cage.
Come on Vlad - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Vlad tightens his grip and picks Ayala up, before dumping him to the ground. Ayala manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Vlad advances to half guard.

Vlad has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Vlad has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Ayala's face.
Vlad swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
