Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Tepes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Johnny McCash!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Vladimir Khabensky and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCash shoots in and drives through. Tepes sprawls well.
Tepes looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
McCash closes the distance and clinches up with Tepes, looking for a takedown. McCash pushes Tepes against the cage but Tepes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McCash throws a leg kick but Tepes moved away.
McCash tries to clinch up.
McCash tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Tepes swivels and escapes.
Vlad Tepes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny McCash.

McCash moves into the clinch successfully.
McCash wants a takedown but no success here.
Tepes just leaning against McCash, taking a breather.

McCash manages to break the clinch.
McCash tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
McCash tests Tepes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Tepes tries to clinch up.
Tepes looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
McCash throws a head kick that misses.

McCash shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Tepes counters with a shoot takedown. McCash fights it but they end up in guard.
McCash looking for a sweep. Not yet McCash, not yet.
McCash wants to stand up but Tepes is controlling him.

McCash is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
McCash really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tepes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tepes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tepes wants to stand but McCash has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
McCash preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McCash is looking to stand up but Tepes isn't so interested in that idea.
McCash is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
McCash is looking to clinch.
Tepes closes the distance looking to clinch

and McCash counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by McCash.
Tepes is trying to stall.
Tepes wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCash has him pressed against the cage.
Tepes avoiding damage as McCash throws knees to the body.

McCash escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tepes throws a leg kick
and McCash counters with a nice kick to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
McCash moves in looking to clinch but Tepes pushes him off.
McCash closes the distance and clinches up with Tepes, looking for a takedown. McCash pushes Tepes against the cage but Tepes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Tepes as McCash shoots in.
Tepes keeps the fight on the outside.
Tepes misses with a body punch

and McCash counters with a single leg into guard. Tepes didn't expect that.
McCash stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tepes swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCash sitting in guard here, content to control.
McCash wanted to stand there but Tepes had control of the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells McCash's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
McCash controls from within his opponent's guard.
McCash looking to pass the guard.

McCash stands up and waves to Tepes to follow him.
A big right from Tepes misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny McCash dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tepes.

McCash clinches up against the cage.
Tepes with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

McCash breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCash tries to clinch but Tepes is having none of it.
McCash fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Tepes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCash can do anything to dispel that myth.
McCash tries to improve position but can't.
Tepes working away.
McCash is looking for a sweep.
McCash manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
McCash scoring with strikes to the body and head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McCash is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Tepes reverses the position - he's now on top in McCash's guard.
McCash not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
McCash lands a good elbow from the bottom.
McCash wants to sweep here but Tepes controlling him for the moment.

McCash has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Tepes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
McCash has momentary wrist control but Tepes slips an elbow through the middle.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McCash looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tepes is one step ahead there.
McCash has a closed guard, preventing Tepes from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McCash throws a combination. Tepes tries to block but a couple of punches get through.


Tepes is rocked!
McCash tries to clinch but Tepes moves out of range.
Tepes swings away with a body shot that misses
and McCash counters with a big head kick but Tepes shrugs it off.
Oh Tepes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Vlad Tepes is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McCash Rushes Tepes and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Tepes is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. McCash Piles on the pressure and Tepes crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny McCash!
