0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Oleg Mirchoffski! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mirchoffski closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Akiyama looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Mirchoffski working over Akiyama with some ground and pound. Akiyama looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Akiyama has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mirchoffski is working away from the top position though. Mirchoffski is nestled in close to Akiyama, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Mirchoffski wants to take a breather but Akiyama is having none of it. Mirchoffski is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee warns Akiyama that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
