Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tim Fraiser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davis Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Fraiser!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Fraiser misses.
Black misses with a straight right.
No joy there for Black, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Black misses with an uppercut.
Fraiser staying out of range there.
Fraiser closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Fraiser pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fraiser avoids a punch combination nicely.

Fraiser scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Black tries to roll over but Fraiser keeps him under control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fraiser uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Black.
Fraiser looks for the body kick but Black saw that one coming.
Black tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Davis Black is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fraiser slips a jab and a cross from Black.
Fraiser shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Black but Black pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Black throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Fraiser moves away from the strike by Black.
Black throws an overhand right that lands on Fraiser's shoulder, as Fraiser tries to avoid the shot.
Black looks to score with a jab to the body but Fraiser is just out of range.

Black throws a body punch but Fraiser moves out of range.
Tim Fraiser seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fraiser ducks under a wild hook from Black.
Fraiser slips a straight right by Black.
Fraiser fails with a takedown attempt.

Horrible takedown by Fraiser or perhaps it was just good defense by Black which made him look bad.

Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fraiser. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fraiser drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Black manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Fraiser has Black in his guard.
Fraiser is breathing heavily.
Black trying to control the position from guard on top but Fraiser is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Black is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Fraiser thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Black looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Fraiser misses with a takedown attempt - Black sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fraiser shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Black as he jumps to the side.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Black misses with a kick to the body.
Fraiser fails with a takedown attempt.
Black thows a left - swing and a miss!
Black throws a shot from downtown. Fraiser moves away and avoids it.

Fraiser throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Black was covering up waiting for the punch and Fraiser finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Black wants to stand but Fraiser is controlling the position.
Fraiser sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Black's guard.
Fraiser prevents Black from improving his position.
Black won't allow Fraiser to pass to mount.
Fraiser is thwarting Black's attempts to control the position.

Fraiser is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Black doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fraiser.
Black tries to roll over but Fraiser keeps him under control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Fraiser moves out of range as Black strikes.
Black misses with a looping right.
Decent striking displayed by Black there.
Black lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
A slapping leg kick lands for Fraiser.
Fraiser shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Black defends it nicely.
Black connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Black slaps away a takedown attempt from Fraiser, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A punch lands to the side of Fraiser 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fraiser drops his hands momentarily and Black takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Fraiser with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Black to score with a decent uppercut.

Fraiser shoots for a takedown but Black saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fraiser uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Black.
Black swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tim Fraiser is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Black throws a hook to the side of Fraiser's head but Fraiser sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Black rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Fraiser moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Black manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Black takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Fraiser slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Black is nestled in close to Fraiser, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Tim Fraiser overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Fraiser is on top in guard.

Fraiser thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Black is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Fraiser tries to improve position but can't.
Fraiser is not content to let Black control the position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Fraiser takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Black throws the kick towards the body but Fraiser avoids it.

Fraiser shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Black is trying to defend but Fraiser finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

I think Black has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
