Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Saurus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Saurus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Saurus changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Davidson tries to avoid it but Saurus manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Davidson to the ground. Davidson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Saurus. David Davidson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Saurus. Saurus misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Davidson is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Saurus shoots for a takedown but Davidson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Davidson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Saurus can do anything to dispel that myth. Davidson stands up from half guard. Davidson moves into the clinch. Davidson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Saurus turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Saurus manages to end up in side control. Saurus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Davidson keeps working.
That's one minute gone in the round. Davidson wants to get back to his feet but Saurus drags him back down. Davidson is trying to control Saurus's posture but Saurus avoids it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saurus moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Saurus in side control, throwing shots but Davidson defends. Saurus controls the position. Davidson manages to get back to half guard. Saurus not doing much here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Saurus prevents Davidson from standing back up.
Saurus content to control rather than advance. I looks like Saurus might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Saurus wants to pass to mount but Davidson is defending the position. Saurus passes into side control, despite Davidson's attempt to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Saurus wants to control but Davidson is keeping him busy. Davidson can't do much from the bottom here. Saurus in side control lands a decent elbow. Saurus lands a nice forearm strike. Saurus is looking to take a break and control but Davidson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Davidson manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Davidson prevents Saurus from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saurus is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Davidson's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Davidson's back! Saurus doesn't have the hooks in and Davidson manages to turn into his guard.
Davidson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Davidson controlling from the top position. Davidson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Davidson wants to pass the guard but Saurus is keeping the position. Saurus looking to hit a scissor sweep but Davidson is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that David Davidson will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Saurus misses with a takedown and Davidson counters with a single leg into guard. Saurus didn't expect that. Davidson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Saurus swivels though and keeps the full guard. Davidson's corner is telling him to maintain position. Davidson is fighting to break Saurus's control of his arms but Saurus is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Davidson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Saurus dives on top into guard. Davidson wants to sweep here but Saurus controlling him for the moment. Saurus wants to control from the top but Davidson keeps moving.

Davidson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Saurus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Davidson swivels though and keeps the full guard. Saurus postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Davidson wants to stand and escape but Saurus is having none of it. Davidson is trying to keep Saurus in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Saurus has his takedown stuffed and Davidson counters by clinching up. Saurus looking to stall.
Saurus is working for takedown but Davidson is calmly controlling the position for now. David Davidson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Saurus. A frustrated look appears on Davidson's face as he tries to break the clinch. Davidson tries to break the clinch but Saurus is controlling the position. Davidson tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Davidson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Davidson thows a big elbow that misses. Davidson trying to control the position from guard on top but Saurus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Davidson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Saurus is proving hard to escape from.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Saurus throws a nice looking combination but Davidson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Saurus shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Saurus showed some decent athleticism there. Saurus wants to free his trapped foot but Davidson is holding on for dear life with his legs. Davidson trying to control from the bottom.
Still in half guard, Saurus seems content to control. Davidson has his hands clasped together around Saurus's back. He's all about the action. Saurus throwing shots but Davidson is blocking nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
David Davidson dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Saurus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Saurus not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Davidson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Saurus works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Davidson wants to control from the top but Saurus keeps moving. Frank Saurus has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Saurus trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Davidson tries to land a front kick but Saurus steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Davidson tries to clinch up. Davidson fails in his attempt to clinch. Frank Saurus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Saurus gets a clinch. David Davidson is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Davidson jumps into guard, dragging Saurus to the mat.
Davidson wants to stand up but Saurus is controlling him.
And that's the end of the fight! David Davidson showed his dominance in that final round. Well Davidson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
