The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Milner! Gibson tries to control but Milner wriggling away. Gibson with the ground and pound from mount. Milner working to try and regain half guard.
Gibson wants to control the pace but Milner is squirming around nicely. Gibson is really struggling to control Milner but he's trying to hold on to the position. Milner tries to hold on but Gibson postures up. Gibson unloads with some shots from mount but Milner bucks and avoids them well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Milner can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's one minute gone in the round. Milner tries to lock up and control but Gibson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Gibson controlling from the full mount. Gibson scoring with strikes but Milner is staying in there. Gibson looking to control but Milner is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Milner tries to buck Gibson off but he can't manage it. Gibson controlling the position easily from mount. Milner tries to hold on but Gibson pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Milner working to try and regain half guard.
Milner is trying to reverse the position but instead Gibson has taken his back - oops! Gibson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. Milner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gibson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gibson gets his hands free as Milner looks to control. Gibson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Milner! Can he survive? No! He's out! Gibson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
