Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matt Bleak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Apolskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Bleak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Apolskis!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bleak misses with a double jab.

Apolskis gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Bleak's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bleak connects with a body shot.
Bleak is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Apolskis.
Bleak ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Apolskis moves away.
Bleak misses with a body kick.
Apolskis shoots in for a takedown but Bleak shows good takedown defense.
Bleak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Bleak throws out a loose jab but Apolskis uses good head movement to avoid it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Apolskis.
Apolskis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bleak sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Apolskis somewhat.
Matt Bleak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Apolskis.

and Apolskis counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Bleak!

That's one minute gone in the round.

Apolskis moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bleak has worked his arm free - good work by Bleak!

Apolskis stands up.
Bleak doesn't manage to clinch there - Apolskis circles away.
Bleak throws and low kick but Apolskis moves out of range easily.
Bleak fails to land with a series of punches.
Bleak misses with a hook.

and Apolskis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bleak's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Apolskis wants to control from the top but Bleak keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bleak trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Bleak keeping moving, preventing Apolskis from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Bleak stuffs the takedown attempt from Apolskis. Apolskis gets slowly back to his feet.

Apolskis shoots in for a takedown but Bleak shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

so Bleak counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bleak postures up in Apolskis's guard and throws a big left but Apolskis blocks it.

Bleak stands and steps away. Apolskis gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A jab from Bleak finds it's way through Apolskis's defenses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bleak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bleak throws a body kick, spinning off balance

and Apolskis counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bleak won't be happy with that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Apolskis goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bleak has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Apolskis but great work by Bleak.

Bleak stands up and beckons Apolskis to his feet.
Bleak throws a combination that misses

so Apolskis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bleak keeping moving, preventing Apolskis from controlling successfully.
Bleak seems keen to control Apolskis's posture.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Apolskis pushing down on Bleak's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Apolskis dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Bleak gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Apolskis drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Apolskis as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Bleak screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Apolskis! Nice submission victory there!
