The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hallquist changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Remarque looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hallquist decides to stand back up. Hallquist steps back and let's Remarque get back to his feet.
Remarque with a lazy takedown attempt
and Hallquist counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Remarque's guard now.
Remarque is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hallquist wants to stand but Remarque has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Remarque looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hallquist puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Remarque is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Hallquist is tapping! Great win for Remarque!
