Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Lafferty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Hinton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hinton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lafferty's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hinton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lafferty is just riding it out for now. Hinton eventually gives up the hold.

Hinton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lafferty sees it coming and defends easily.

Lafferty has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hinton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hinton uses his free foot to push down on Lafferty's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lafferty.

Hinton fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lafferty manages to avoid it.

You get the feeling that Lafferty really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lafferty sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hinton is trying to control. Lafferty wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hinton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
