Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

3 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Billy Boyer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails to land the takedown.
Boyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boyer throws a series of punches but Smith avoids them all with ease.
Billy Boyer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boyer as he avoids it easily.
Boyer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Boyer throws a right hand that Smith ducks under and follows up with a left that Smith also avoids with ease.

The fight stays on the outside here - Boyer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Smith is looking for a kimura but Boyer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Smith to get the leverage.
Boyer on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Boyer tries to get out of the position.
Boyer tries to roll over but Smith keeps him under control.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Boyer's head.
Smith is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boyer doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Smith.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Smith or perhaps it was just good defense by Boyer which made him look bad.

Smith drops back looking for a leg! Boyer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Boyer manages to kick Smith off! Smith jumps back into Boyer's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Smith passes Boyer's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Boyer will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Smith is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Smith shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Boyer sprawls well. Boyer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Smith gets slowly back to his feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Boyer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
