Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Raul Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, dwayne waters!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
waters misses with a two punch combination.
Some wild striking there from Sanchez.
Sanchez staying out of range there.
Sanchez misses with a double jab.
Sanchez tries to clinch but waters is having none of it.
Sanchez misses with a wild combination.
waters scores with a nice right hand.
Sanchez throws a looping overhand right but waters ducks down to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts waters, as that shot connected.
waters lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
A punch combination from waters misses.
A shot to de liver by waters. Beautiful body shot.

Sanchez misses with a double jab
and waters counters with a nice body shot.
waters misses with a double jab.

Sanchez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. waters did well to prevent Sanchez getting side control.
waters is trying to get back to full guard.

Sanchez is working for a kimura but waters is defending it quite comfortably.
waters trying to control from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
waters tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sanchez has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
waters is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sanchez throwing strikes here but waters is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
waters keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Sanchez punching from mount but waters doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Sanchez throws some wild stikes that waters manages to avoid easily.
waters blocking the ground and pound.

Sanchez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now waters is on top in guard.

waters is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
waters pushes down on Sanchez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
waters scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

waters looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sanchez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
waters not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Sanchez trying to control but waters postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sanchez is pressing down on waters's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Sanchez looking for subs off his back but waters has passed one foot through into half guard.
waters uses his free foot to push down on Sanchez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Sanchez.
waters blocks Sanchez's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

waters is working for a guillotine from mount but Sanchez frees his head quite easily.
waters tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
waters lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Sanchez hang on?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Sanchez darts in trying to clinch
and waters counters with a nice uppercut.
waters connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Sanchez! He's out on his feet! waters rushes in and drops Sanchez with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). dwayne waters!
