Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and mashida amorim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
amorim shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rua leaves amorim with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

amorim has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rua breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rua misses with a takedown

and amorim counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by amorim.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rua is on top in guard.
Rua trying to control but amorim is working from the bottom.
Rua is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
amorim wants to hit a switch here but Rua passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for amorim there!
Rua lands with some strikes.
amorim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rua. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

amorim has left one of his arms exposed and Rua doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. amorim screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
