Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Lozada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Lozada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Lozada. Lozada gets slowly back to his feet.
Danga de danga de dang - Johnson scores with a four punch combination!
Johnson stuffs the takedown.

Lozada shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lozada stops Johnson from standing up.
Johnson keeping moving, preventing Lozada from controlling successfully.
Johnson wants to stand up but Lozada is controlling him.

Johnson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Lozada misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Johnson stalks Lozada and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lozada's face. Lozada staggers backwards, shaken.

Johnson looks to land a combination but Lozada avoids it well.
Lozada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Lozada shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lozada showed some decent athleticism there.

Johnson tries to kick Lozada off but Lozada keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Lozada is working for a kimura but Johnson is defending it quite comfortably.
Lozada is breathing heavily.
Johnson looks like he's trying to stand up.
Lozada not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Lozada thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Lozada is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Johnson is just riding it out for now. Lozada eventually gives up the hold.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A nice combination there by Johnson.
Lozada takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Lozada has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Lozada's front leg but catches the back leg as Lozada tries to avoid it.
Johnson tries to clinch up but Lozada circles away and keeps his distance.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Johnson is working the combinations to good effect here.

Lozada feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round but I would say that Joey Lozada will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Johnson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Lozada wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.

Lozada has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Lozada is having none of it.
Lozada is working Johnson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lozada is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lozada is on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lozada shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Lozada's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Johnson will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Lozada up against the cage.

Lozada throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Johnson's waist but Johnson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lozada off to one side.

Johnson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Johnson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Johnson feints and then cracks Lozada's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Lozada down.
Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Lozada off the cage and back into rage.
Lozada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Johnson but Johnson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Lozada takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Johnson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lozada has hold of Johnson's hands but Johnson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Johnson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Johnson misses with a head shot. Lozada uses the momentum to regain guard.
Johnson wants to stand but Lozada is controlling his posture from full guard.
Johnson is looking to work some ground and pound but Lozada has wrist control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ray Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lozada has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
