Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Luiz Chek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kompakt Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Gracie Family Entrada as his entrance music. Kompakt Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luiz Chek! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kompakt Gracie! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Mauricio Rocha and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Chek scores with a takedown into Gracie's guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Chek avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Chek working some strikes from top position. Chek stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Chek trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Chek might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Chek keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head. Chek wants to get up but he can't break Gracie's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Chek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chek has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Chek landing with the ground and pound. Chek lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chek trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Gracie keeping full guard, as Chek tries to pass. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Gracie striking off his back but it's not causing Chek any problems. Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gracie has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chek is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Gracie. Gracie looks gassed! Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Chek connects with a decent elbow. Gracie is looking for a sweep. Chek is working Gracie over with some ground and pound from side control. Chek working the ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Chek lands a nice forearm strike. Chek looks up at the clock and then as Gracie takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chek smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Chek stalls from top position. Chek stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Chek shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard. Chek controls from within his opponent's guard. Gracie trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Chek has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Chek scoring with punches to the head and body. Chek trying to control but Gracie is working from the bottom. Chek lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Chek gets the takedown into side control. Chek stands up and beckons Gracie to his feet. Chek shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Chek sitting in guard here, content to control. Gracie looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Chek's corner is telling him to maintain position. Chek pushes down on Gracie's leg and manages to get into half guard. Gracie wants to get back to full guard. Chek working over Gracie with some ground and pound. Gracie looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Chek perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gracie is pressing down on Chek's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Chek chips away with some ground and pound. Chek content to stall in guard here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luiz Chek dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Chek fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Gracie sprawls well initially but Chek persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Chek working over Gracie with some ground and pound. Gracie looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Gracie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Chek's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Chek's back! Chek knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground. Gracie has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Chek has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Gracie has the hooks in. Chek is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Chek holding on to Gracie's left wrist, preventing the choke. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Gracie looking for the choke from the back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chek can't escape the position.
Chek defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Gracie's arms. Chek is having to fend off submission attempts from Gracie, who is looking to sink in the choke. Gracie doesn't have the hooks in though and Chek manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard. Chek scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Chek stands up over Gracie, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chek sitting in guard, not really doing much. Chek is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Gracie is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Gracie throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Chek lands a couple of decent looking shots. Chek decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Luiz Chek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Chek scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Gracie manages to get to full guard.

A close second round but Kompakt Gracie will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Chek shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Chek was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Gracie tries to get back to half guard but can't. Gracie is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Gracie flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Chek lands a big elbow. Chek landing strikes, looking to finish! Chek lands a nice shot to the head. Chek looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Chek lands a big shot there that rocks Gracie but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Gracie sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Chek scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Chek seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Gracie actively working from the bottom here. Chek is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Gracie taking some punishment here, with Chek in his half guard. Chek wants to pass the guard but Gracie is defending well. Chek blocks the strikes from Gracie.

Gracie doesn't succeed with the takedown and Chek counters with a single leg into guard. Gracie didn't expect that. Gracie looking for a triangle here. Chek is fighting it but it looks tight! Gracie pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Chek is tapping out - this one is all over!
