The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James takes one on the button.
It looks like Brock James has been cut.
James tries to move into range but Machida moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Machida tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Machida throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Machida lands with a nice combination. James backs away looking to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machida drops James with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but James looks back up at him and smiles so Machida waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
James is rocked!
That has opened up Brock James's cut even more.
Lyoto Machida seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Machida looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Machida lands a left and a right that send James crashing to the mat, dazed. Machida thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
James is still on wobbly legs! Can Machida finish him?
Machida lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in James - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Machida!
