Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Jacobs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Jones! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jacobs shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Jones sprawls well. Jones wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jacobs gets slowly back to his feet. Phil Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jacobs tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position. Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jacobs, who protects the arm well. Jacobs manages to get back to half guard. Jones seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Jacobs is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea. Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Jones works his way into side control. Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position. Jones misses with a wild combination.
Jones takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Jones throws a combination that misses and Jacobs counters with a thumping low kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Jacobs gets the takedown into side control. Jacobs lands a nice forearm strike. Jacobs decides to stand back up. Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jacobs swivels and escapes. Jones throws a series of punches but Jacobs moves out of range. and Jacobs counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Jacobs passes to side control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jacobs wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Phil Jones will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!

Jones sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jacobs's guard. Jacobs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though. Jacobs wants to get back to full guard but Jones has mounted him! Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time. Jones controlling the position easily from mount. Jacobs sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Jones tries to stand but his arm is trapped. Jacobs is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest. Jacobs is not content to let Jones control the position. Jones not landing any meaningful shots this time. Phil Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Jones drops an elbow to the side of Jacobs's head.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Jacobs tries to clinch but fails miserably and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jones moves in looking to clinch but Jacobs pushes him off. Jacobs misses with a takedown so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Jones stands up from Jacobs's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Jones wants to clinch. Jacobs is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Chris Jacobs is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jacobs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jones was covering up waiting for the punch and Jacobs finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Phil Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Jacobs stops Jones from passing to mount. Jacobs managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Jones.

Jacobs fails with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Jacobs is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jones stands up from Jacobs's guard - Jones perhaps looking for a knockout. Jones closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Jones is pressing down on Jacobs's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jacobs is holding on for now.

Jones moves nicely into side control. Jones decides to stand back up. Jones steps back and let's Jacobs get back to his feet. Jones leaves Jacobs with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chris Jacobs. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A slow jab from Jones misses its intended target. Jones lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Jones throws a combination that misses and Jacobs counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Jacobs is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Jones gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Jones can't get the takedown.

Chris Jacobs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Phil Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jones closes the distance and pushes Jacobs back into the cage.
And that's the end of the fight! Phil Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Jones winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
