The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Te shoots for a double leg takedown but Torres sprawls well. He's pushed Te's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Spapu Te seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Torres. No joy for Te on that attempt.

Te postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Te is nestled in close to Torres, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Torres throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Te closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Te lands in his opponent's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Te working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Torres doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Torres manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Torres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Te swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Te had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Torres defends it easily.

Te is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Torres stands up from Te's guard - Torres perhaps looking for a knockout.

Torres shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Te manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Te is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Torres has his hands clasped together but Te extends an breaks Torres's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Te.
