Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Anderson Silvennoinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Piss Flaps!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flaps throws a head kick that misses.

Flaps shoots in and bounces Silvennoinen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Flaps wants to pass the guard but Silvennoinen is keeping the position.
Silvennoinen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Flaps stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Silvennoinen swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Flaps trying to move into half guard but instead Silvennoinen has managed to sweep!
Silvennoinen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silvennoinen has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Flaps is proving hard to escape from.
Flaps controls Silvennoinen momentarily but Silvennoinen frees himself.

Silvennoinen postures up in Flaps's guard and throws a big left but Flaps blocks it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Flaps can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Flaps tries to clinch but Silvennoinen moves out of range.

Flaps moves into the clinch.
Flaps lands a body punch in the clinch.

Flaps breaks the clinch.

Flaps looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silvennoinen is breathing heavily.
Flaps is trying to control the action in half guard but Silvennoinen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Silvennoinen gets underhooks to prevent Flaps's takedown attempt.

Flaps is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Flaps wants to control but Silvennoinen passes easily into half guard.

Silvennoinen wants to pass the guard but Flaps is keeping the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silvennoinen won't allow Flaps to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flaps trying to keep a closed guard but Silvennoinen is proving a slippery customer.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Silvennoinen walks forward, straight into a front kick from Flaps.

Flaps scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Flaps is looking to take a break and control but Silvennoinen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Flaps lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piss Flaps dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Flaps takes the fight into the clinch.
Flaps is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Silvennoinen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

so Flaps counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Flaps preventing the sweep.
Flaps postures up.
Flaps must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Silvennoinen can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Flaps controls the pace.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Flaps clinches up with Silvennoinen and pushes him back against the cage.
Flaps jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Silvennoinen walks away with a smile on his face. Flaps gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Anderson Silvennoinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Flaps gets the takedown into side control.
Silvennoinen manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Flaps wants to get back to full guard but Silvennoinen has mounted him!
Silvennoinen wants to control the pace but Flaps is squirming around nicely.
Flaps is trying desperately to improve position.

Silvennoinen connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Flaps is looking to improve his position but Silvennoinen isn't that keen on the idea.
Flaps tries to hold on but Silvennoinen pushes him away.

Silvennoinen wants to finish this one by submission but Flaps is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Silvennoinen.
Silvennoinen prevents Flaps from getting the reversal.
Flaps swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Silvennoinen wants to control the pace but Flaps is squirming around nicely.
Flaps bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Silvennoinen looking to control but Flaps passes into half guard.
Flaps perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Silvennoinen trying to hold on to Flaps's head to control him but Flaps postures up.

Flaps decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piss Flaps showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flaps is defended easily by Silvennoinen.
Flaps takes a swing at Silvennoinen's ribcage but misses.
Silvennoinen displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Flaps.
Anderson Silvennoinen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silvennoinen dives in and grabs Flaps's left leg, looking for a takedown. Flaps pushes down on Silvennoinen's head and hops out.

Flaps closes the distance and clinches.
Silvennoinen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Come on Flaps - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Flaps continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.
Silvennoinen tries to pull guard but Flaps won't allow it.

Silvennoinen is not content to let Flaps control the position.

Flaps prevents Silvennoinen from improving his position.
Well, if Flaps is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Flaps is looking for a kimura but Silvennoinen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Flaps to get the leverage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Flaps throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Flaps misses with a series of wild punches.

Silvennoinen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silvennoinen landing with the ground and pound.
Silvennoinen preventing the sweep.
Flaps manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Silvennoinen tries to hold on but Flaps postures up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Anderson Silvennoinen showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Flaps has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
