Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elliot Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob General (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Elliot Saunders! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bob General! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! General tries to close the distance and clinch up but Saunders swats him away and circles back towards the center. Saunders avoids the head kick by General.
General is looking to clinch. Saunders fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. General sprawls well initially but Saunders persists and gets the takedown into half guard. General taking some punishment here, with Saunders in his half guard. Saunders content to control rather than advance. General avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Saunders. Saunders lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Saunders throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saunders wants to pass to mount but General is defending the position. Saunders is working hard here to advance position. Saunders missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Saunders thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed General's head. Saunders not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. General wants to get back to full guard. Saunders missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. General with a lazy takedown attempt and Saunders counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Saunders controlling the action here.

Saunders looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks General with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Saunders not landing any meaningful shots this time. General looks like he's trying to stand up.
Saunders decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. General tries to bum rush Saunders with a series of wild strikes but Saunders uses good footwork to avoid the assault. General tries to clinch and Saunders counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for General!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saunders landing strikes, looking to finish! Saunders landing strikes from the mount. Saunders lands a heavy elbow. Saunders with the ground and pound from mount. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Saunders landing strikes from the mount and General is in trouble! Saunders takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Saunders pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. BOOM! Saunders connects with a massive shot to the dome!
General tries to hold on but Saunders postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Saunders controlling from mount. Saunders looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Saunders punishing his opponent with strikes. General wants to control but Saunders is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Saunders looking to finish General with some ground and pound. This is bad for General! Saunders has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of General's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elliot Saunders dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
General clinches but Saunders breaks the clinch and Saunders counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. General has hold of Saunders's hands but Saunders slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. General avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Saunders. Saunders throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Saunders is keen to just control but General is a slippery customer. Saunders sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. General defending well though. Saunders trying to control the pace. Saunders seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down General for as long as he can get away with.
That's one minute gone in the round. Saunders slips a nice elbow through General's hands, connecting with General's forehead. Saunders is looking to stall here but General recovers full guard. General preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Saunders content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Saunders showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Saunders working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saunders with a flurry of punches that miss. Saunders landing with the ground and pound. Saunders in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Saunders won't allow General to get back to his feet. Saunders has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Saunders stands up over General, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Saunders's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Saunders is looking to advance position but General has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Saunders is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that General can do to turn this around?

Saunders sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Saunders is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. General wants to stand up but Saunders is controlling the position.
General working Saunders over with strikes. General throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. General throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. General is trying to control the action in half guard but Saunders is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Saunders regains full guard. Nicely done. Saunders throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.

Saunders wants to sweep but no luck. Saunders lands a decent shot there. General loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. General wanted to stand there but Saunders had control of the position. General is breathing heavily. Saunders wants to sweep but no luck.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. General gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Saunders throws and elbow that misses. General uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Saunders's guard. Nice move by General! General working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Saunders's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Elliot Saunders dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
General closes the distance but Saunders moves to the side and Saunders counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Saunders. General connects with a knee to the head.
It looks like Elliot Saunders has been cut. General is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Saunders is defending well for now. Saunders drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Saunders wants a takedown.
Saunders is struggling to control the position. Saunders manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Saunders is pulling down on General's head. It's preventing any offense from General, at least for the moment. General takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Saunders tries to land a sweep but no joy.

General wants to get up but he can't break Saunders's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Saunders is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. General won't allow Saunders to sweep him here. Saunders on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Saunders tries to get out of the position. General throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Saunders works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Saunders throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. General pushes Saunders away with a front kick. Bob General is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Saunders throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. General tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. General tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Saunders counters with a shoot takedown. General fights it but they end up in guard. Saunders seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Saunders throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as General works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Saunders keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of General's head. Saunders stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. General swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Saunders loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. General is looking to stand up but Saunders isn't so interested in that idea. General is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. General is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
General thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Saunders to regain full guard. Saunders seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saunders is on top in guard.
Saunders is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Saunders distracts General with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Elliot Saunders is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Saunders gets to his feet - General follows without any prompting. General swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. General tries to clinch up and Saunders counters with a single leg into guard. General didn't expect that.
And that's the end of the fight! Elliot Saunders showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Saunders, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
