Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Binzo Binzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Binzo's entrance music is Hair of the Dog by Nazareth. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Binzo Binzo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Tim Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to de liver by Binzo. Beautiful body shot.
A nice leg kick lands there from Binzo.
Binzo connects with a solid leg kick.
Binzo tries to clinch there but Thomas circles away.
Thomas jabs at Binzo's body.
Binzo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Thomas circles away quickly and effectively.
Binzo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Binzo is fighting to break Thomas's control of his arms but Thomas is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Thomas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Binzo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Binzo trying to control the position from guard on top but Thomas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Binzo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thomas manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Binzo has Thomas in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Binzo looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Thomas stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Binzo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Thomas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thomas content to stall in guard here.
Thomas postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Binzo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Binzo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Thomas is trying to maintain the position but Binzo is very close to passing his half guard.

Binzo throws a strike but Thomas avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Thomas utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thomas is on top in guard.

Binzo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Thomas can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Binzo has momentary wrist control but Thomas slips an elbow through the middle.
Thomas wants to control from the top but Binzo keeps moving.

Binzo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Thomas defends it easily.

Binzo is refusing to be controlled, as Thomas sits in half guard.
Binzo wants to get back to full guard.
Well, if Thomas is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Binzo Binzo will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Binzo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Thomas.
Nice uppercut lands for Binzo. That snapped Thomas's head back.
Binzo looks to land a right hand but Thomas moved out of range.
Thomas just misses with a punch to the body.
Thomas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Binzo lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

and Binzo counters with a shoot takedown. Thomas fights it but they end up in guard.
Thomas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Binzo's guard.
Binzo is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Thomas is working Binzo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Thomas trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Binzo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Thomas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Binzo is looking to sinch up a triangle. Thomas throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Binzo's body to avoid the submission. Binzo has instead reached around Thomas's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Binzo arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
