Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matt Deep (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Cesar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Deep's entrance music is blood theme. A fine choice. Cesar has chosen Dr.Dre ft. Snoop Dogg - Still Dre as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Deep! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Julio Cesar! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deep throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deep keeps the fight on the outside. Cesar plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Matt Deep has been cut. Cesar doesn't manage to clinch there - Deep circles away.
Cesar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Deep misses with a double jab.
Cesar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Deep! Cesar goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Deep turns into him and now he's in Cesar's guard.
Cesar has a closed guard, preventing Deep from standing up. Deep got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cesar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Deep has managed to get both his arms back between Cesar's legs - danger averted.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deep wants to get up but he can't break Cesar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Deep trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Deep won't allow Cesar to sweep him here. Deep has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Deep cracks a nice hook into Cesar's ribs. Cesar looks gassed! Deep moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cesar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Deep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deep throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Deep scores with a jab to the jaw. Deep lands a nice shot that snaps Cesar's head back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Deep shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Deep scores a takedown into full mount! Deep controlling from the full mount. Deep knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cesar on the ground. Cesar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deep looking to control and managing it successfully. Cesar is working to get back to half guard.
Deep tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment. Cesar sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Deep tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cesar. Cesar trying to control from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Deep prevents Cesar from improving his position. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cesar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Cesar trying to control but Deep postures up.
Deep tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Cesar. Deep stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. Deep decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Deep prevents Cesar from improving his position. Deep postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Cesar to stand up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Deep dominated that round. The cut man is working on Matt Deep's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Deep displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Cesar throws a head kick that misses. Cesar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Deep makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Good exchange - Deep coming out on top. Deep takes a swing at Cesar's ribcage but misses. Julio Cesar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A left lands for Deep. Cesar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Deep counters with a shoot takedown. Cesar fights it but they end up in guard. Cesar is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Deep decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Deep looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Deep scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cesar tries to improve position but can't. Deep decides to stand back up. Deep goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Deep looks to land a combination but Cesar avoids it well. Matt Deep is winning the standup battle so far. Cesar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Deep tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Deep throws a combination. Cesar tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Deep throws a nice looking combination but Cesar bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Deep rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cesar moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Deep scores with a hook to the body. Cesar takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. This has been an exciting period of action! Deep bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Matt Deep overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Deep stands up. Matt Deep is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Cesar has his takedown stuffed so Deep counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Matt Deep has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Cesar. Deep stopping the sweep attempt from Cesar.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cesar throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Deep escapes and throws Cesar's legs to the side, diving into side control! Deep decides to stand back up. Deep fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Cesar fails with the takedown and Deep counters with a nice body shot. Deep lands with an uppercut that bounces Cesar off the cage and back into rage. Deep wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Cesar throws a front kick aimed at Deep's knee but Deep avoids it well. Cesar tries to move into range but Deep moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Deep connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Deep tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Cesar was well out of range. Poor timing from Deep. Deep fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cesar manages to avoid it. Cesar closes the distance looking to clinch enabling Deep to counter with a crisp jab. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matt Deep dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Matt Deep's cut. That's time! Back to the action! And we move into the final round!
A decent looking cross lands there for Deep. Deep avoids the head kick by Cesar.
Cesar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cesar ducks right into an uppercut from Deep. Deep is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cesar can do to turn this around? Cesar clinches but Deep breaks the clinch enabling Deep to counter with a crisp jab. Cesar misses with a takedown and Deep counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Deep. Deep wanted to stand there but Cesar had control of the position. Cesar takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cesar tries to land a sweep but no joy. Cesar throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Deep tries to stand but Cesar is controlling from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Deep will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Deep misses with a jab, cross combination.
Cesar throws a combination that misses and Deep counters with a series of strikes. Cesar will be more careful next time no doubt. Deep drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Deep working away. Deep stands up and we're back to a striking position. Cesar takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab lands there for Deep. Deep attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Deep throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cesar. Cesar doesn't succeed with the takedown and Deep counters with a right hand to the body. Cesar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Deep.
Cesar closes the distance looking to clinch and Deep counters with a left to the body. Matt Deep is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Deep throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Cesar gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Deep wants to get up but he can't break Cesar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Julio Cesar has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cesar trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
And that's the end of the fight! Matt Deep showed his dominance in that final round. Well Deep has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
