The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Breland is trying to get back to full guard.
Breland is trying to maintain the position but Barry is very close to passing his half guard.

Barry seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Barry lands a heavy elbow.
Breland's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Breland tries to hold on but Barry postures up.

Barry is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Breland is surviving well by controlling Barry's body position as best he can.
Barry is landing with some decent strikes but Breland is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Breland tries to hold on but Barry pushes him away.
Barry tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Barry fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Barry holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Breland wants to get up but he can't break Barry's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Despite being in the dominant position, Wayne Barry just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barry stuffs the takedown attempt from Breland. Breland gets slowly back to his feet.

Barry has picked Breland up - he's going for a ride! Barry dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Breland slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Breland looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barry is one step ahead there.

Breland has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Barry lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Barry tries to pass to full mount but Breland defends it.
Still in half guard, Barry seems content to control.
Barry looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Barry working over Breland with some ground and pound. Breland looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Breland is trying to control but can't.
Breland pushes Barry off looking to stand but Barry dives back in and keeps control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wayne Barry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Breland is defended easily by Barry.
Mark Breland is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Barry tries to close the distance and clinch up but Breland swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Barry shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Breland throws his legs up looking for a submission but Barry uses it to pass to side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Breland wants to get back to his feet but Barry drags him back down.

Breland is looking to reverse the position.
Barry is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Breland's shoulder. That is not cool.
Breland is trying to work for a sweep but Barry has mounted him!
Breland tries to hold on but Barry pushes him away.

Breland is wriggling around trying to escape.

Barry working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Breland turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Barry off and cradles Breland's limp body as Barry celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:03 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Wayne Barry!
