Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Face Basher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Antwan Jackson! The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Basher tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jackson throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Basher. Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Basher circles away quickly and effectively. Basher dodges the punch combination from Jackson.
Basher is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jackson's half guard. Jackson is trying to stand back up but Basher is controlling him
Basher takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Basher's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson wants to get back to his feet. Basher thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jackson to regain full guard. Basher wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Basher wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth. Basher wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson pushes Basher off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Danga de danga de dang - Jackson scores with a four punch combination! Jackson looks to land a combination. Basher sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Antwan Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Basher moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
It looks like Antwan Jackson has been cut. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jackson. Basher shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Basher avoids a punch combination nicely.

Jackson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jackson closes the distance and lands a one-two. Basher closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Basher lands in his opponent's guard. Basher is breathing heavily. Jackson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Basher changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Basher manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Basher shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense. Basher misses with the combination.
Basher is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson throws a nice looking combination but Basher bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Basher dodges the punch combination from Jackson.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jackson throws a series of punches but Basher avoids them all with ease. Basher moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off. Basher slips under a jab. Jackson misses with the combination.

That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson tries to break free but Basher pushes him back against the cage. Jackson wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Jackson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Basher counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jackson won't be happy with that. Jackson is breathing heavily. Basher scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Jackson to see if he's OK. Jackson wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Basher trying to control the position but Jackson is working away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Basher wants to stand but Jackson is controlling his arm. Jackson managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Basher.
Jackson is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Basher is trying to move to mount but Jackson reverses beautifully and ends up in Basher's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Basher is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jackson misses with a double jab.
Jackson throws a right hand that Basher ducks under and follows up with a left that Basher also avoids with ease. Jackson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jackson blocks a head kick by Basher.

and Basher cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Basher is looking to chop away at Jackson's legs. Jackson swinging wilding here.

Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Basher was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson. Jackson leaves Basher with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Jackson shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Jackson is thwarting Basher's attempts to control the position. Basher is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jackson working Basher over with strikes. Basher knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jackson on the ground. Jackson seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Jackson sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Basher defending well though. Face Basher overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Basher trying to hold on to Jackson's head to control him but Jackson postures up.
Jackson passes the guard and advances to mount! Jackson lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Jackson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jackson with a couple of short strikes. Jackson throwing strikes here but Basher is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Basher is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Jackson cracks Basher with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Basher wants to hold on but Jackson pushes him away. Jackson lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Basher hang on? Jackson working away from the top, dropping strikes. Basher can't escape the position.

Basher is in a horrible position here. Jackson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Antwan Jackson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Face Basher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Basher regains half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Antwan Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Basher has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
