Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fidel Gaspar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kaleb Strader! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Tiny Johnson and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Strader throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Nice sprawl there from Gaspar as Strader shoots in. Gaspar has Strader up against the cage in a clinch.
Gaspar breaks from the clinch.
Strader stuffs the takedown. Gaspar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gaspar fails with an attempt to clinch.
Strader throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Strader closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Gaspar tries to kick Strader off but Strader keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Gaspar scores with a few weak punches. Gaspar is trying to stand back up but Strader is controlling him
Strader takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
It looks like Fidel Gaspar has been cut. Strader not landing any meaningful shots this time. Gaspar is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Strader's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Strader's back! Strader rolls, trying to escape but Gaspar keeps control of the position.
Gaspar wants to control but Strader is keeping busy. Strader manages to reverse the position and now he's in Gaspar's guard. Nice work there by Strader.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gaspar is trying to control the position but Strader postures up. Strader trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Strader postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Gaspar is trying to keep Strader in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Gaspar tries to clinch there but Strader circles away.
Strader misses with a takedown and Gaspar counters with a flying knee. Nice. Strader swats away the attempt to clinch by Gaspar. Strader misses with a takedown attempt and Gaspar counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gaspar. Fidel Gaspar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kaleb Strader. Strader can't get the takedown.
Gaspar successfully pulls guard.
Strader working some strikes from top position. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Strader's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Gaspar has momentary wrist control but Strader slips an elbow through the middle.
Fidel Gaspar's cut is getting worse. Gaspar controlling Strader's posture. Strader chips away with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaspar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Strader doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Strader manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Strader working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Strader missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Strader is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Gaspar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gaspar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Strader has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Strader stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaspar swivels though and keeps the full guard. Strader with a nice head shot there. Strader connects with a couple of short punches. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Strader lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Gaspar is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Strader missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gaspar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Strader has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Gaspar is proving hard to escape from. Strader stops Gaspar from standing up. Gaspar is trying to keep Strader in close.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Gaspar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gaspar shoots in but no luck this time. Strader stuffs the takedown. Strader shoots and misses and Gaspar moves into the clinch. Strader has had enough of the clinch but Gaspar keeps him there for the moment. Gaspar gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Strader.

Gaspar looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Strader! Gaspar stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Some wild striking there from Gaspar.
Strader throws a nice inside leg kick. Strader gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Gaspar counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Gaspar throws a half hearted mid kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Gaspar looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Kaleb Strader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Strader throws a sloppy head kick and Gaspar counters by moving into the clinch. Strader breaks the clinch.
Gaspar throws a series of punches but Strader moves out of range. Strader looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Gaspar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gaspar tries to clinch up but Strader circles away and keeps his distance. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Gaspar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Strader.

Kaleb Strader dominated that round. The cut man is working on Fidel Gaspar's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Strader scores a takedown into full mount! Strader is landing with some decent strikes but Gaspar is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Fidel Gaspar's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Strader has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Gaspar's face.
Gaspar is rocked!
Jeez, Fidel Gaspar's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Fidel Gaspar's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
