PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Case (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Case comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Aki & Turo - Mahtisonni kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chris Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Justin Case!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter misses with a hook.

Case bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Carter is letting Case control him for a moment.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Carter stops Case from passing to mount.
Carter is trying to improve his position.
Case scoring with punches and elbows.
Carter tries to bench press Case off him but Case keeps the position.
Carter wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Case closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carter did well to prevent Case getting side control.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Case connects with a nice short shot to Carter's temple.
Case is taking a breather. Carter says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Case has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Carter's face.

Carter tries to land a front kick but Case steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Case shoots in but Carter avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Carter is trying to hold Case in close to prevent damage but Case has managed to pass into half guard.

Case works his way into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carter bucks up and tries to throw Case off but instead Case has got his back!

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Carter rolls, trying to escape but Case keeps control of the position.
Case is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Case tries to keep control of the position but Carter is staying busy.
Carter rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Case slows the pace down in half guard.
Carter wants to control but Case is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Case seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Despite being in the dominant position, Justin Case just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Justin Case showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Case moves into range and connects with a jab.
Case takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Case slips a straight right by Carter.
Carter throws a hook to the side of Case's head but Case sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Case staying out of range there.
Carter misses with an uppercut.
Case shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Carter sprawls well. Carter wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Case gets slowly back to his feet.
Case shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Case keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Carter is desperately trying to improve his position but Case has a good base and remains in mount.

Case is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Carter can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Justin Case is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Case lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Carter is wriggling around trying to escape.
Case content just to control the position here.
Case pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Justin Case comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Case winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
