Jason smith looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Briggs closes the distance and clinches up with smith, looking for a takedown. Briggs pushes smith against the cage but smith circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Briggs postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
smith is looking to reverse the position.
smith is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
smith is trying to maintain the position but Briggs is very close to passing his half guard.
smith is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Briggs is staying active.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
smith wants to get back to his feet.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Briggs tries to avoid it but smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Briggs to the ground. Briggs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Well, if smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
